10 Ways to Get a Free Glastonbury Ticket

Updated: March 18, 2026

Nailing down a ticket to Glastonbury can be difficult, and even then you have to contest with the high price.

In 2025, a full weekend ticket cost £378.50 (including a £5 booking fee), a jump up from £360 in 2024. But don’t worry, there are some alternative ways to get hold of a Glastonbury ticket and the even better news is – the tickets are free!

How To Get a Free Glastonbury Ticket

2026 is a fallow year – there’s no festival to give the ground a chance to recover. The next Glastonbury Festival will be in 2027.

Volunteer for a Charity

Volunteering for a charity at Glastonbury is a pretty sweet deal as you’ll get a free ticket in exchange for your work!

Oxfam

Oxfam offers the opportunity to volunteer as a steward at Glastonbury. This role includes giving directions, checking wristbands, and patrolling campsites and arenas. You’ll be expected to work around eight hours over six days, which can be in the morning, afternoon or night.

You won’t have to pay for the festival pass itself, but they do ask for a refundable deposit of around £380, which is about the same as a ticket price. They then return this deposit to you six weeks after Glastonbury.

You’ll get to enjoy the festival while doing some good! Plus, Oxfam offers a volunteer campsite with hot showers, phone charging stations, hot water, tea and coffee. They even throw in meal vouchers to use on-site, so you’ll end up having a comfier festival experience than most.

Since volunteering at festivals is so popular, Oxfam operates a points-based priority system. You accrue points each time you volunteer – and this can get you priority access when volunteering spots open, meaning you get first dibs. You can find out more on their website.

WaterAid

Wateraid offers volunteer opportunities that include filling water bottles and cleaning toilets and sanitary areas. You will be expected to pay a refundable deposit of £200 (£60 if you’ve volunteered with WaterAid before) and work four shifts of six hours each.

You’ll stay in a volunteer campsite, which includes toilets, showers, a communal marquee and hot drinks. For every shift you’ll get a meal token.

Keep an eye on WaterAid’s website for when applications open to work at Glastonbury when it next runs in 2027.

Greenpeace

Another way to snag a free Glastonbury ticket is by volunteering with Greenpeace at The Greenpeace Field section as a steward or a shower crew member. In exchange for your efforts, you’ll get a festival ticket, access to secure crew camping, hot showers and vegetarian or vegan meals.

Check Wristbands

Festaff is a company that supplies casual workers to festivals and one of them is Glastonbury! Here’s the deal: to get your free Glastonbury ticket you’ll need to pay a deposit and also volunteer at two other festivals with Festaff. This could include festivals like Creamfields and British Summer Time, amongst many others.

This option will cost you the same as a ticket price upfront, but you get your deposit back and most shifts are done before the main acts even start. You can expect to work three eight-hour shifts over five days.

Applications for 2027 aren’t open yet, so set some reminders to check Festaff’s website in 2026 to see when they open.

Work as Bar Staff

Consider working behind the bar for a free Glasto ticket. Both Workers Beer Company and Avalon Bars & Events hire thousands of volunteers to serve drinks at the festival.

You can expect to work around three eight-hour shifts between Wednesday and Sunday. It’s a fun way to get in for free and be part of the action.

Generally, they provide showers, meal vouchers per shift, t-shirts for working, tea and coffee facilities and phone charging stations.

Work in First Aid

If you have medical, paramedic or first aid qualifications, you can score a free Glastonbury ticket by volunteering with Festival Medical Services. They offer great volunteering gigs for health pros like doctors, nurses and paramedics and even non-health pros like campsite crew.

You’ll need to show proof of your qualifications, supply a passport-style photo and pay a £25 non-refundable three-year membership fee. They’ll cover the cost of an enhanced DBS check if you need one for your role.

Volunteer Your Artistic Skills

Every year The Greencrafts Village looks for craftspeople, makers, sculptors, gardeners and all-round creatives to join them at Glastonbury.

You can volunteer with Oasis Carnival Club for festival stewarding, model making, face painting and other creative roles. You’ll work three 8-hour shifts between Friday and Sunday, and in return, you get a free Glastonbury ticket, private camping, toilets and parking at the campsite.

Be a Performer

Getting selected to perform at Glastonbury can take a bit of work, but there’s room for all kinds of acts, not just the famous ones. Artists wanting to perform at Glastonbury can enter the annual Emerging Talent Competition. In 2025, eight artists got invites to perform, with the winner getting a main stage slot and some cash. The competition is also used by smaller stages to source acts as well, so it’s definitely worth a shot.

The competition is open to acts from the UK and Ireland. Submissions usually open early in the year, so be ready with a YouTube link to an original song and a live performance video.

And remember, it’s not just musical acts! Glastonbury has 62 stages, many of which play host to lesser-known acts. Some smaller stages, like the Croissant Neuf Stage, Acoustic Stage and Poetry & Words Stage still accept direct applications for those wanting to perform. You can check out a full list of all the 2025 stages here.

Work for Worthy FM

Worthy FM is Glastonbury’s onsite radio station. Sometimes, they look for volunteers for the station. Keep an eye on their website for opportunities to get involved.

Work For a Media Company Covering The Festival

Lots of media companies cover Glastonbury and the festival grants press tickets to them in exchange for coverage. It is an arduous application process – there aren’t many tickets to go around! – but this is how I’ve been able to go for the last few years as my partner James works as a producer for Radio X. These tickets are like gold dust even within the media companies though, and so perhaps don’t try bagging one after a couple of weeks on the job!

Work for a Sponsor (or know someone who does!)

There aren’t loads of commercial partners at Glasto – which is great! However there are still some including Vodafone (in the past it’s been EE), Land Rover and Chilly’s, so if you do happen to work for these brands, or know someone who does, it could be worth finding out if they have a batch of tickets that they give away, or if they need some support at the festival itself.

Win a Competition

Yes you have to get lucky but some brands do give away Glastonbury tickets. Some of the companies that have done this in past include Clipper Tea and Chilly’s.
