One of the most common questions I am asked at the moment is – can I still get away on a cheap summer holiday?
The good news is… yes! In fact I was kinda impressed that there are still lots of cheap summer holiday deals to be had in the months of July and August 2025, even though it’s the most popular time to travel.
5 Cheap Summer Holidays for Under £500
I’ve handpicked some of the best summer deals, which when I first found them cost under £500 per person, with departures from various airports, to help inspire you to book your cheap summer holiday!
Now, these prices do fluctuate – sadly there’s not a lot we can do about that but even if that happens (and we have tweaked were we’ve spotted this), this shows you what deals we were able to find which should serve as inspiration for your own search!

Bag a 3-star break to sunny Barcelona and enjoy the best of both worlds – a beachside escape and a city break.
SM Hotel Sant Antoni in central Barcelona is an absolute steal. You’re just five minutes’ walk from Sagrada Familia and Monumental metro station is a block away. And your room has air con too!

Chelsea and I just had a weekend in Barcelona and loved sampling the endless tapas and cocktail bars on offer! Check out El Poblenou neighbourhood for a slightly more chill feel in the summer.

Albania’s inviting beaches are just a ferry ride from Corfu, so it’s a great option for getting more affordable accommodation for your summer escape.
The town of Sarandë is known for its picture-perfect beaches and is very popular with holidaymakers looking for a new destination to explore. Visit the crystal clear waters of the Blue Eye spring or take a boat trip to explore hidden coves.

Okay so the Scots out there will quickly spot something is awry with this Edinburgh deal… It’s back when the kids are in school! Well apologies to those of you living in Scotland, but this is actually a hack for those living in the north of England who are able to make the most of the cheaper prices across the border.
But don’t worry, the Scots can do the same in July when the English schools are still in!

Stockholm, Sweden
5 night break from £447pp

Enjoy mild weather and long days in Stockholm – it’s a great time to make the most of this fab city.
You’ll find the city streets and squares full of people making the most of the weather and enjoying drinks and meals outside. Stay in trendy Östermalm and get some delicious snacks at Östermalms Food Hall to fuel you up for a walking tour or a visit to the popular Vasa Museum.

I took a trip to Stockholm in late summer last year. My tip is to visit Vaxholm island and get a taste of how the Swedes do summer! You can get a boat there or hop on a bus. Rent a kayak for a calming paddle or book into a sauna for a relaxing time followed by an icy cold dip!

Andalucia, Spain
7 night break from £462pp

Sunny Malaga is a big favourite for summer hols but prices do jump. Car hire is pretty affordable so our tip is to look at the wider Andalucia area and find a nice spot in where your money will go further.
We’ve found some fab accommodation towards the city of Almeria, known for its sandy beaches, historic fort and lack of rain(!)

I think this is a real bargain for a family summer holiday. You get a little terrace with your room and the apartment complex looks dreamy – there’s a gorgeous pool and it’s just 200m from the beach.

Berlin, Germany
4 night break from £317pp

I LOVE Berlin in the summer, in my mind there’s no better time to soak up the vibes of this city.
Head down to the Landwehrkanal with the cool kids to sip on something cold, find a chilled beer garden like BRLO Brwhouse or hop on a bike tour.
As for accommodation, it’s pretty well priced, and you can stay somewhere really nice without the hefty price tag.

James and I stayed at the Max Brown and it was really lovely. However my top tip for a summer stay is – get a room with air conditioning! Some rooms just have a ceiling fan and so it can get pretty warm in there. We upgraded to a room with air con and it was worth every penny. So you can get a cheaper room from £332 per night, but the price above is for one with air con so you’ll be the perfect temp throughout your stay!
