Boutique Hotel The Craftsmen is a cosy spot on one of the city’s main canals, Singel. It’s just a 10-minute walk from Centraal Station and close to top sights like the Anne Frank House.
Housed in a gorgeous 17th-century building, this hotel has a decor inspired by old-school craftsmen. You’ll find quirky touches like lamps made from old sewing machines and tables crafted from vintage workbenches. They’ve also kept some of the building’s original characteristics like exposed beams and grand fireplaces.
They offer only 14 rooms, each featuring a unique theme such as Airplane Builder or Shoemaker, creating a highly personalised experience. Most rooms have canal views and quirky and vintage furniture pieces. All the rooms come with comfy beds, espresso machines and USB sockets, while some are a bit larger and have bathtubs right in the bedroom.
The young, friendly staff are there to help and make you feel right at home. The Gallery, the hotel’s breakfast room, serves a tasty morning buffet and turns into a relaxing spot for drinks and snacks in the evening.
