Hotel Altus Palace

Wierzbowa 23, 50-104 Wrocław, Poland
treat
5 Star

Wrocław's Hotel Altus Palace is a luxury, 5-star hotel that won't cost you a fortune! Located just 15 minutes from the main square, it's only a short walk to all the action - be that Cathedral Island, Wroclaw Opera House and Wroclaw Zoo.

The hotel is housed in a former palace built in 1874. The grand building is intricately decorated and boasts over 81 comfortable rooms and suites, a spa, fitness centre, restaurant and bar. It is BEAUTIFUL.

The hotel rooms are HUGE - the standard double  that I booked was so lovely. You're also offered a drink on arrival which is a nice extra touch. Whilst most rooms face outward, there are some rooms that face the internal courtyard. If this is important to you, make sure you ask in advance. There’s a tram stop next to the hotel so you will hear (and feel!) it rumble past. We didn’t mind this at all but if you’re a light sleeper, you could ask to be on the opposite side of the hotel.

They also have a really relaxing spa in the basement complete with 4 day beds, a sauna, a steam room and a jacuzzi pool. It is small but really well done! They have treatments too, though at 720 zloty (£138.50) for a 50 minute hot stone massage, your money will go a lot further elsewhere.

Breakfast was 110 zloty (£21.16) though if you book in advance as part of your booking, it will be cheaper. It’s a great selection - buffet plus an a la carte menu - and they do pour you a glass of sparkling champagne too so whilst it is quite expensive, it can be decent value if you’re hoping to load up for the day ahead.

We loved our stay and even upgraded to the Junior Suite for the last couple of days which only cost us £142 a night. A really special place for a treat stay without it costing a fortune.

Would absolutely recommend!
