Hotel Scarlett is a recent find of mine, I stayed here for the night when I took a trip to Paris with Eurostar Snap.
The hotel itself is great and pretty affordable for Paris - I managed to snag a room for under £90 in August. It was super clean, my room had a comfy bed, there was AC for those sticky Paris nights! Downstairs, there's a cute space to chill out or work from and breakfast is available too.
The hotel is in Belleville, which is in the 20th arrondissement. It's a bit away from the super touristy districts, with a nice local feel and lots of really well-priced restaurants.
There's a great vibe in the area with lots of locals enjoying the food and drink on offer. I loved Paloma, a delicious women-run restaurant I went to in the neighbourhood where I got a 3-course lunch for €16 - a bargain! Also, check out the events calendar at The People Belleville as I enjoyed a free jazz night with cheap drinks when I was staying in the area.
I will say though, I saw loads of recommendations to check out Belleville Park nearby, which has great views over the Paris skyline. I don't know if I just picked the wrong time to go - there was some construction work going on - but as a solo female tourist I didn't really feel comfortable there. So I would avoid!
My final tip is to head over to Canal St Martin which is only a 20 minute walk away. On a sunny day there are loads of people just hanging out enjoying a drink or a meal outdoors. I love it around there!
