What is Skyscanner’s New Cheapest Destination Planner?

In a nutshell, Skyscanner’s new Cheapest Destination Planner shows you the 10 cheapest return flights from the UK for any given month. This is an average price, based on the data Skyscanner has on all the thousands of routes and fares available.

So if you’ve got a set budget and you’re wanting bargain flights – but you don’t mind so much about your specific destination – this is going to be SUCH a helpful way to plan your trip. Anything from a cultural city break to a week by the sea.

How does it work?

  • Pick the month you want to travel
  • The Cheapest Destination Planner tool will show you the 10 cheapest destinations for that month
  • You’ll see the average price of a return flight, the cheapest travel days, and some suggestions about what to see and do in each location
  • Once you’ve made your selection, you can click through to explore the flights and even hotel options for your destination.

As well as this month by month breakdown, Skycanner has also crunched the data from thousands of flights and millions of prices to figure out the top 10 cheapest return flights in 2026 when flying from the UK.

So, we’ve dived into each destination to give you our recommendations of what to do, eat and drink and where to stay for every budget.

1. Lyon, France - £105 average return
