Dubrovnik is one of the hottest destinations in Croatia with a historic old town, amazing sea views, cute rocky beaches and an array of great restaurants. But where should you stay?
In this article, we’ve handpicked the best hotels in Dubrovnik to suit every budget, from cheap guesthouses to swanky hotels. Let’s take a look!

Where to stay in Dubrovnik
A quick note about Dubrovnik – the old town is pretty compact, and encircled by the ancient city walls. There’s a limited number of places to stay here – and you generally pay a premium for the location.
Beyond the walls, there are lots of well-priced (and more spacious) options, just a short drive or bus ride from the historic centre. So this list of the best places to stay in Dubrovnik contains accommodations in the old town as well as in surrounding spots like Lapad, Mlini, Cavtat and even the Elaphiti Islands.
The Best Hostels in Dubrovnik
Love Dubrovnik Hostel
Bright and breezy, Love Dubrovnik Hostel has dorm rooms with 4, 6 and 8 beds. You can even opt for a “premium dorm” with a balcony to give yourself even more space. That, or there are double, triple and family rooms – and even a four-person suite if you want a bit more privacy.
Each dorm has air conditioning, and an ensuite shower and toilet. Guests rave about how spotless the place is too. There’s a shared kitchen for preparing meals, and a terrace and garden for chilling outdoors.
Location-wise you’re super central and only a 3-minute walk from Ploce Gate at the edge of the old town.
Amenities: Terrace, garden, family rooms, shared kitchen
Prices: Dorm beds start at around £26 per person, per night
Hostel Angelina

Plus, if you’re lucky, you’ll get a room in the main building which has original features – just check out that parquet flooring!
The hostel runs events so you can meet fellow travellers, and there’s a central courtyard and terrace for socialising too.
You’ll be at most popular spots in Dubrovnik within minutes – vibey Buza Bar with its free rocky beach is a couple of minutes’ walk away. You’re also just 5 minutes from Pile Gate and the Old Port.

Rooms are double or twin – or there’s a family suite – with neutral furnishings. They’re a pretty good size considering the price. It’s not a hostel really despite the name, as all rooms are private, but there’s a communal kitchenette and lounge area that guests can use.
You might even luck out with a sea view, seeing as it’s opposite the port. Hostel Sol is a great option if you’re just in town for a night or two, and want to be close to transport links to explore further afield, or to start or finish your trip.
