Rotterdam's Markthal market is a foodie's dream come true! Inside, you'll find a treasure trove of gourmet fast-food stands, delicatessens, cafes, and cheesemongers. On Tuesdays and Saturdays, the market goes into overdrive with an extra 500 stalls outside. Here you can find clothing, books, and fresh produce. It's like a mini shopping extravaganza right there on the streets.
When we visited we saw plenty of affordable items. We stopped off at 21 Pinchos, who like their name suggests sell Pinchos - a typical Spanish dish which comprises on a slice of bread with toppings! I had 5 pinchos for €13,50 and sampled toppings including manchego cheese, crab and iberico ham. After, we visited Andalus to sample some of their affordable fish dishes. We had the herring (€3) and the fish sandwich (€6)!
