Amsterdam is known for its fab range of thrift shops - if you've got some time for a rifle through the racks you can find some absolute gems here.
Instead of a fridge magnet, why not pick up a new-to-you item for your wardrobe as a souvenir?
In Amsterdam, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to second hand shops. You'll find everything here, from designer denim to vintage homeware and everything in between.
The fashionable 9 streets shopping area has a good number of second-hand boutiques. Make a beeline for Zipper which has a huge selection spread over 2 floors, or Laura Dols which has unique occasion wear including wedding dresses, and vintage homewares too.
But you'll find shops all over the city - there's also Episode, which has a few different branches, including in one in the 9 streets, and Mood Indigo in Nieuwmarkt - they've got a great denim selection.
De Lokatie has three thrift stores, including an enormous one on the north side of town, and they have a social conscience too - they employ people who experience barriers to finding traditional work.
If you love a flea market, then visit Waterlooplein where you can find one taking place Mondays to Saturdays.
