The Koutoubia Mosque is Marrakesh’s largest and most famous mosque, with a minaret stretching 77m high. It’s beautiful and worth a stroll past, as it’s such an iconic building in the city.
It’s a working mosque so if you're Muslim you can go inside to pray. If you're not you can still admire the gardens and fountain outside, and take a moment to soak it all in.
The mosque lies just to the west of the main square Jemaa El Fnaa, just a few steps away, so you can combine it with a visit there.
