If you’re looking for a casual place to spend the evening, whilst being able to eat and drink, then Ground Control is perfect. Housed in an old air hanger, this place is massive with over 8 food outlets to choose from, several bars, a big outdoor terrace, arcade games, and even a bookstore.
My favourite discovery was an old aeroplane. I had a peek inside, and it had a DJ and people starting a mini rave! What used to be an old postal hall, has now been transformed it's a massive 6,500 square meter hangout where people can come together, toss around ideas, and get creative in an experimental atmosphere. They bring in a mix of guests – artists, researchers, and entrepreneurs – to spark discussions. But it's not all serious stuff; they're all about good vibes, delicious food, and real interactions, creating an atmosphere that's all about being yourself and having a blast.
Events run in the evening too; enjoy chess games nights, karaoke, drag shows and ceramics workshops. The place has loads of locals and a great buzz about it. The only downside that was come 12:30am, we were turfed out when it felt like the fun had just begun!
