Visit the Vatican Museums

The Vatican Museums have got to be one of the world’s most impressive art collections, which you can visit in Vatican City.

Now this joint is HUGE - the galleries span thousands of square meters and are choc-a-block with priceless artworks and artefacts. You've got ancient classical sculptures, intricate tapestries, iconic works by artists like Rafael and - our favourite - the map gallery, a huge hall lined with historic map paintings.

If you’re a culture buff, make sure you leave plenty of time to explore it all - you could easily spend a whole day here!

The highlight has got to be the Sistine Chapel, where you can see stunning frescos by Michelangelo - particularly on the famous ceiling.
