Thorpe Park’s New Rollercoaster Hyperia Experience

The UK has a brand new rollercoaster and it’s an exciting one!! When it launched on Friday 24 May 2024, Hyperia was the UK’s tallest, fastest and most weightless rollercoaster.

We did a deep dive (or should we say loop-the-loop) to find out more about it!

As huge rollercoaster fans here at CHE, we were so excited to try out this latest addition to Thorpe Park! Here’s everything you need to know about their latest ride.

Where is Thorpe Park?

Thorpe Park is a theme park located in Surrey, around 20 miles southwest of Central London. It has over 30 thrill rides, family attractions and unique events and draws millions of visitors annually.

What's Thorpe Park's newest rollercoaster?

Hyperia is Thorpe Park’s newest rollercoaster and at 236 feet tall, it’s the UK’s tallest rollercoaster. And if that wasn’t enough, it’s also the fastest rollercoaster too, thanks to its 995 metres of track which can generate speeds exceeding 80mph!

How tall do you need to be to ride Hyperia?

You need to be 1.3 metres tall to ride Hyperia!

How much does a Thorpe Park ticket cost?

You can buy 1 day tickets for Thorpe Park from £29 and at time of writing.

Children under 1.2 metres tall can enter for free!

How do I save money on a Thorpe Park ticket?

The key thing is that you buy your ticket in advance rather than leaving it to the day. You can save up to £37pp by booking online!

If you want to spend longer on the rides, you can choose the overnight stay option from £62pp, which includes a 2 day park pass. Or there are annual passes from £99pp.

Can you stay overnight at Thorpe Park?

Yes, you can stay inside the gates of Thorpe Park at the Thorpe Shark Cabins and beat the morning rush!

First hour or last hour Fastrack on your 2^nd day (Excludes Hyperia)
