Birmingham Frankfurt Christmas Market
Saturday 1 November – Wednesday 24 December 2025

Head on over to the Birmingham Frankfurt Christmas Market for all the magic of a German Christmas Market right here in the UK.
This is one of the earliest markets to kick things off on 1 November. And it’s actually the largest German-style Christmas Market outside of Germany or Austria. So there’s plenty of Christmas cheer to go round!
Browse handmade crafts, pick up some decorations, fill up with traditional snacks like bratwurst sausage and wash it all down with a glass or two of hot glühwein (mulled wine).

Winchester Christmas Market
Friday 21 November – Monday 22 December 2025

Picture-perfect Winchester gets even more charming at Christmas, when the Winchester Christmas Market sets up shop beside the cathedral.
This is one of my favourite markets – the setting is a dream, there are loads of stalls selling unique arts and crafts from small businesses, and it’s an easy train ride from London. I even took the team here for our Christmas party one year!
My highlight was definitely the mulled wine stall that had a HUGE copper cauldron steaming away – it was like something out of Harry Potter!

With the market having just opened on Friday 21, you’ll miss the initial swell of crowds.
However do note that market closes at 5pm on a Sunday – but they open again at 10am on Monday.
Now, I wouldn’t normally list a hotel that has a rating of 7 out 10 that’s not even in the city centre – but as Winchester is a very popular market, there’s not a lot of choice if you’re looking to stay on a budget.
Also note that you’ll need a car or taxi if you don’t fancy walking a mile to the bus stop, where an hourly bus takes you into the centre.

Atmospheric Edinburgh is always great for a city break, and at Christmas?! Well there’s shedloads of festive magic at thee Edinburgh Christmas Market.
The most iconic market is in the heart of the historic centre in East Princes Street Gardens, overlooking Edinburgh Castle, the Scott Monument and the city’s skyline.
You’ll find everything here – both local and international traders selling Christmassy crafts and snacks. Plus there’s the iconic LNER Big Wheel towering over it all.
For family-friendly fun and storytelling with Santa, hit up West Princes Street Gardens. Or for ice skating, pop over to George Street.

Belfast Christmas Market brings together more than 100 traders right in the middle of the city, in the grounds of Belfast City Hall.
They’ve got serious Christmas feasting going on and lovely handmade goodies to check out. Plus you can fill up with a hog roast and sip on some glühwein at their outdoor food court.
