But how much does it cost to stay in Vienna during Christmas Market Season? Let’s find out…
Let's start expensive
Leo Grand

In traditional viral vacay fashion, we’re starting with the spendy option.
Leo Grand is a seriously posh 5 star hotel with a wedding-cake white exterior, spacious rooms and divine Penhaligons toiletries. There’s even a free minibar.
Location-wise you’re right beside St Stephen’s basilica (if it’s a clear day be sure to go up and see the view)
How much? A night in December starts at an eye-popping £463 for a Deluxe Room.
Cheapest nights: Stay on Mon 8th Dec for this bargain (!!) rate – though the price dips below £400 at the end of November when the markets are open too
Fancy a cheaper alternative?
Max Brown Hotel 7th District

Max Brown is a lush four-star hotel in Vienna’s trendy 7th district.
It’s a hip, design-led spot – there are record players in the bedrooms! – and a popular restaurant that’s worth making a reservation at if you want to be sure of a table.
Hop on the bus and in just 10 minutes you’ll be at the Museum Quarter. Then it’s a short stroll to popular spots like Hofburg Palace, or Rathausplatz where one of the main Christmas Markets is.
How much? You can stay from £145 per night in a double room in December.
Cheapest dates: Stay on Mon 22nd Dec for the lowest rate, though the 25th Nov is just £129 a night.
What about even cheaper?
Moxy Vienna City East

You can stay at Moxy’s eastern outpost in Vienna for a decent price this December – and there’s still some availability!
You’ve got the usual cheerful Moxy decor, with playful touches in the rooms, fresh modern bathrooms and a comfortable lobby lounge. You’re close to Erdberg UBahn station, so you can whizz into the city centre in about 10 minutes.
How much? Nights in December are still available from £82 per night, based on two people sharing.
Cheapest night: Mon 15th Dec is currently the cheapest though, you guessed it, you’ll save a few quid by staying on 30th Nov. It’s just £74 a night then.
