Viray Vacay: Craig David Maldives Stay
We’ve been loving @craigdavid‘s joyful stories from the Maldives, so we felt inspired to bring you some dreamy island escapes.
And after a cross-team sleuthing operation here at Holiday Expert, we think we figured out exactly where Craig was serenading us from: the stunning 5-star Joali Being in Raa Atoll, Maldives.
We also really loved this reel where he’s saying how great solo travel is!
Joali Being, Raa Atoll

If paradise exists on earth, then you can surely find it at Joali Being, Maldives.
This is a sensational spot with beautiful villas, picture-perfect beaches and incredible views. Plus there are all the facilities you’d expect from a 5-star Maldives joint like a swimming pool, spa, fitness centre, gardens and of course an incredible spread of dining options. Who knows, it might just inspire you to write a global RnB hit, Craig David-style.
How viral? Views of Craig’s posts from Joali Being are in the multiple millions across Instagram and TikTok.
How much? We reckon Craig stayed in the Grand Beach Pool Villa, which costs from £4,743 per night. No wonder he’s been so happy!
Fancy a cheaper alternative?
The Standard, Huruvalhi Maldives, Raa Attoll

The Standard Huruvalkhi Maldives is a beautiful spot just perfect for a treat stay – with a loved one, the family or even solo – like Craig.
Escape from it all in your own villa with its very own private plunge pool, gawp at the incredible sea views and generally feel extremely recharged indeed. Decor in the villas is modern and playful (disco bathtub anyone?) and you’ve got a terrace too for ultimate chilled relaxation.
There’s also a swimming pool, spa, loads of dining options and activities like snorkelling and diving.
How much? A night in an ocean overwater villa costs from £362 per night.
What about even cheaper?
Furaveri Island Resort, Raa Atoll

If you’re not earning royalties of Craig David proportions, then you’ll be looking for a Maldives hotel that doesn’t cost too many hundreds of pounds a night.
Enter Furaveri Maldives, a lush 5-star accommodation where the prices might actually fall within budget! Villas are fresh and modern, elegantly designed in shades of cream with traditional wooden accents.
And it’s not like you’re having to sacrifice much for the price. The hotel is right on the beach, so you’ve got that all-important seafront setting – perfect for clogging up the camera roll. There’s a spa, swimming pool, fitness centre, sun terrace and lush gardens, and restaurants serve up global cuisines including Indian, Chinese and Italian.
How much? You can stay in a garden villa from £244 per night, which dare we say it seems pretty reasonable for around here. Ocean overwater villas start at £531 per night.
