Viray Vacay: Luxury Austrian Spa Hotel in the Mountains

We came across this stunning hotel on @wherejesstravels page…

@wherejesstravels 📌 Naturhotel Forsthofgut This hotel has been around for over 400 years, and has been run by the same family for five generations. During that time it’s grown from a humble guesthouse to an award-winning 5* hotel. 🎿 The hotel is a year round destination. In summer, you can enjoy beautiful hikes through the mountains, and in winter, the hotel is a fantastic ski resort, with runs for all levels, and a slope that leads directly into the hotel so you can ski-in ski-out. 🍔 A stay here includes half board as standard so breakfast and dinner is included, as well as a buffet “afternoon tea” from 3-5pm. 🏊‍♀️ The main feature of the hotel is the vast outdoor natural swimming pool, which is the perfect place for a refreshing dip. #austria #austriavacations #austriagram #visitaustria #austriatrip #austriatoday #austriatravel #feelaustria #discoveraustria #365austria #austriaalps #austriatourism #loveaustria #beautifulaustria #exploreaustria #loves_austria #beautifulhotels #luxuryhotels #besthotels #hotelstay #spahotel #amazinghotels #hotelviews #boutiquehotel #hotelgoals #hotelgram #travelblogger #uktravelblogger ♬ original sound - Jess - Travel + Hotels

As Jess says in the caption, this mountain hideaway is Naturhotel Forsthofgut, a family-run hotel which has been welcoming guests for hundreds of years!

So… where is it?!

Naturhotel Forsthofgut, Leogang, Austria

This is Naturhotel Forsthofgut, a five star, seriously luxe mountain escape in Austria with its very own natural swimming pool. Splurge on a suite or keep it cosy in a room – or you can even rent your very own mountain hut!

How viral? This reel has 1M views on TikTok!

How much? A suite here can cost as much as 4,400€ (£3,762) in peak season, although it might surprise you to learn you can nab a room in May from just £205 per night.

Fancy a cheaper alternative?

Hotel Sturm, Bavaria, Germany

Hotel Sturm in Mellrichstadt, Germany is in a protected nature reserve and has a natural swimming pool too. Located in the Rhön Nature Park in Bavaria, this spot is just a bit(!) more affordable.

As well as the natural pond it has indoor and outdoor saunas, a steam room, a relaxation room with a fireplace and a wellness garden.

How much? Double rooms here start at £197 per night.

What about even cheaper?

Meri-Karina, Turku, Finland

If you’re on a budget, head to Finland and stay at Meri-Karina in Turku. There’s direct access to the sea for a natural dip, and you can warm up in the sauna in between.

There’s no restaurant on site here, so you’ll want to make use of the shared kitchen facilities. It’s probably best to hire a car here so you can make the most of your surroundings. But you can get to Turku town centre on the bus – they go once an hour.

How much? Get a double room from £60 per night.
