Vilnius budget, mid-range and luxury hotels – but which is best?

The Best Hotels in Vilnius

There are many fantastic hotels in Lithuania’s capital city of Vilnius and so I decided to test out one of the best rated budget, mid-range and luxury hotels to discover – which Vilnius hotel is the best value for money?

Jolly Apartments

Vilnius Old Town

Budget
£32/night

First up, we stayed in Jolly Apartments. Tucked inside the popular tourist area of Vilnius Old Town, I thought £32 a night was a great price – especially given its high ratings and reviews.

I was really impressed that whilst basic, it still had a coherent design and I thought it was really cute! The room was also super clean, the shower was warm and there was even a fridge which is a real perk for a room so cheap.

What’s more, the location really was fantastic. Vilnius is a walkable city as it is, but to be close to lots of places to eat and drink and enjoy the views of the Old Town architecture from the window was a real bonus.

Neringa Hotel

Naujamiestis- Vilnius New Town

Mid-range
£69/night

Whilst less of a go to area for tourists, you can get real value for money in Vilnius’ New Town – plus, you’re only a 17 minute walk from the Old Town. What’s more, when staying in Neringa Hotel you’re still close to plenty food and drink offerings, as well as museums and shops too.

Considering the cheapest room was just £52 a night (we treated ourselves to a Superior Double Room with a King Size bed for £17 more) I think this hotel has unreal value for money! Thanks to a recent renovation, the interiors are really beautiful and this stay felt like a proper treat.

Plus, with a soon to come rooftop bar and facilities such as the lounge and the gym, I think it’s a really good price for all the additional space you get access to. That and I don’t think I’ve ever seen sparkling wine in a minibar for only €6 before. The only downside was abysmal internet speeds but I like to think they were having a bad day!!

Hotel PACAI

Old Town

Luxury
£149/night

Back in the Old Town, Hotel PACAI is a 5 star spa hotel that sits right on Vilnius’ Town Hall Square and it certainly lives up to the other buildings around it! Originally constructed in the 15th century, you’ll see many glimmers of its past history as you roam its exquisite rooms and corridors. Expect 5 star design and 5 star service too.

This hotel goes to prove that you do not need to spend a fortune to stay in a luxury hotel. Wow, wow and wow.

Whilst the room was on the small side – and we’d received a free upgrade from a standard double to a superior double – it really did have that high end feel with a beautiful bedding and Molton Brown products in the bathroom. We also enjoyed working from the bar downstairs (the Wi-Fi was very good though still not as fast as Jolly Apartments!) and being able to book in to use the dry air hamman in the Spa for free was a great perk.

Finally, the included breakfast the next day was fantastic. There was a buffet but also an a la carte menu and I even spotted some fizz resting in a bucket alongside the breakfast juices!

Which did I think was the best value?

It was really tough – all three were excellent choices and I would have been happy to stay 3 nights in any of them! The budget room was excellent value, however my final choice would have to be Neringa Hotel but in the £52 standard double room. I think it’s a really fantastic way to feel like you’re having a treat without spending a fortune.
