easyJet released their summer 2027 tickets in their ‘Big Seat Release’ on 28th July 2026. But is it actually the best time to buy?
When do easyJet release their flights and how far in advance?
easyJet release their flights in batches, around four times a year, and they tend to release them around 10-13 months before their departure dates. These releases are often done in seasons, for example ‘Summer 2027′ flights will get dropped in one go.

When is the next easyJet flight release?
In 2025 it was on Tuesday 22 July 2026 at 9AM.
This was for ‘Summer 2026′ flights that ran between 15 June and 15 September 2025.
In 2026, they went on sale on Tuesday 28th July 2026, and you can book flights through until 26 September 2027 and easyJet Package Holidays until October 2027.
Do easyJet use dynamic pricing, and how does that affect the cost?
Similar to many other airlines, easyJet uses dynamic pricing which means that the price of your flight depends on demand. For example, if a popular sports event has just been announced in a city that easyJet flies to, you can bet that the flight price will rapidly increase.
This is also why peak travel to popular destinations can get so expensive, and why release dates that promise cheaper fares are a hot topic!
However, it’s not all bad news with dynamic pricing as if a destination isn’t getting as much attention, it could well be that prices are lowered to lure in a few more sales.
Are easyJet flights the cheapest on release day?
Ah, the reason we’re all here!
Due to dynamic pricing, it’s difficult to say outright that fares on release day are at their cheapest point as we don’t yet know how demand will cause prices to change across the coming months.
However, what we can say is that flights can have a ‘cheap’ price when first released – or at least a price that is considered fair. The problem is that if there’s been a build up of demand for a certain flight, which is definitely the case for popular routes in the summer holidays, then that price won’t hang about for long.
This is due to not only the cheaper fares being snapped up quickly, but also possibly dynamic pricing recognising that demand, and so hiking the prices up too.
What happens to those prices in the days and weeks after release?
After easyJet’s summer flight release a few years ago, I tracked a bunch of school holiday flights for the following summer. In all cases, the flights did go up in price after the release date.
However, that’s where the trends seemed to end! Some flights got much cheaper later on down the line, whereas others did dip briefly, but then steadily climbed past the cost you saw first on release day.
You can read more about my findings in my deep dive below.
What are the advantages of booking your easyJet flight on release day?
The key advantages of booking your easyJet flight on release day is that if you book early enough, you may well snag a great price.
However, if you wait too long – and we’re talking as little as an hour here – you may find you’re battling an increased price that may not reflect value for money.
The biggest advantage though, is that once you’ve locked in a price you don’t have to worry about tracking prices and watching on in anguish if prices do in fact keep spiralling upwards.

What type of travellers should book on easyJet’s release day?
The perfect candidates for booking flights on their release day are peak-season holiday travellers who are set on a popular destination. This can mean families and large groups who don’t have a lot of flexibility.
Should I keep checking my flights after I’ve booked?
Sadly, dynamic pricing means we can never be sure whether flights with go up or down in the future, and so all we can hope for is that you’ve got a price that you’re happy with.
Therefore, my one piece of advice if you’ve decided to lock your flights in is to not look again.
How do you bag the best price on easyJet release day?
If you’re keen to try and book easyJet flights on release day, here’s my tips for success:
1. Find out the date of the next release
Given that easyJet tends to release flights around 10-13 months before the departure date, you can quickly work out the timeframe when the release may be.
Then it’s a case of keeping an eye out. The good news is that the date is big news in the travel industry and so travel accounts and newspapers will be sharing it – including us!
2. Check what time the flights will be released
This can change from sale to sale, but often easyJet will place a countdown clock on their homepage so you can work it out.
The upcoming summer 2027 flight sale is due to go on sale soon.
3. Set your alarm and be early
Whilst the website may state a certain time, it has been known that flights have gone live before this time in the past. Therefore, it’s definitely worth checking a couple of hours before to see if your flight has dropped yet. In fact, previous sales have shown flights as early as 5am!

4. Set up an account and be logged in
Not booked with easyJet before? Get an account set up now and make sure you’re logged in ahead of your flight searches.
5. Check on desktop and on the app
Last year, the flight sale was supposed to go live at 6am and yet I was struggling to find cheap flights once the fares had suddenly appeared. It turned out the flights had already been live and selling on the easyJet app! So don’t forget to check there too.
Should you ever wait before you buy flights?
If you’ve missed the cheapest fares at release, then you may well want to wait until the hubbub about the new fares has died down a little.
What travellers might benefit from waiting?
If you intend to travel off peak or to a less popular destination (or even better, both!) then there’s much less of a need to lock your fare in early. Even more so if you don’t really care where you’re off to.
Are there tools or tricks to track price changes over time?
If you do decide to wait to book your flight, there are many flight tracking tools that will email you to let you know when the price goes up and down.
That way, you can set a price that you’ll be happy to pay and keep an eye out for it.
I use both Google Flights and Skyscanner to do this, though do bear in mind that not all easyJet flights are listed there and so it’s worth checking direct as well.
How will I know if it’s the cheapest time to book!
Frustratingly, it’s difficult to know if your flight is at the cheapest point but there is a clever app called Hopper that uses data to tell you whether it thinks you should book or wait, which you may find helpful.
