Budapest’s Best Value 5 Star Hotel: Kozmo Hotel Suites & Spa Review

Updated: June 6, 2025

The only thing I love more than a cheap holiday is a cheap luxury holiday and that’s exactly what I’m going to show you in this Kozmo Hotel Suites & Spa review.

Costing me just £109 a night for a stay in the Hungarian capital, Budapest, it quickly became one of the best value hotels I’ve ever stayed at.

And the good news is that I’ve found room rates in 2025 from just £92 a night – and from just £113 a night over Valentine’s Weekend.

Kozmo Hotel Suites & Spa Review

Why is Kozmo Hotel one of the best value hotels I've ever stayed in?

Now, I may have gone rogue and booked a luxury hotel but of course, I’d booked the cheapest room in the place. However, I had noted in the pictures that some of their standard rooms came with baths and so had requested to have one in my room.

Roll on check in, and when we got to our room I just assumed we’d been given a free upgrade because the room was huge, complete with a beautiful deep bathtub. It also had a walk in wardrobe.

I thought it was odd that they hadn’t mentioned the upgrade and so when we passed the reception desk, I double checked what type of room we were staying in.

“You’re staying in room 102 which is a… Standard Double”.

A STANDARD?!!!

I couldn’t even pretend to play it cool and instead gushed ‘but it’s so huge! I thought you’d upgraded me!’

To which they laughed and said ‘ah, well it’s just that all the rooms are good here’.

You’re telling me!

Here's our favourite cheap romantic hotels from the UK and Europe from just £74 a night. Perfect for Valentine's Day or a treat stay.

What other perks were there?

On top of a lovely spacious room at Kozmo Hotel, we also got a free welcome drink of sparkling Hungarian wine, a free cookie in our room and one free ride in the hotel’s car per day.

I mean sure, we ended up tipping the same amount we would pay for a taxi but it was worth it to be rang on the room phone when our ‘driver had arrived’!!!

There’s also the fact that this hotel is set in an old telephone exchange and so it has the most beautiful stairway that retains some of the original features – it is stunning!

There is also a lounge where we worked from and at certain points of the day, they put out snacks. There’s also a concierge desk which was so helpful in recommending and then reserving us a table at a local restaurant at the last minute.

Finally, there’s a pool table and lots of space to sit down and relax.

Did we get free spa access?

Yes, but only if you’re staying in a higher tier room.

For those of us in standard rooms, you have to pay €30 per person for one day’s unlimited use of the spa and gym when you book online. When we asked reception, they said it’s only 20€ at the hotel so you could always try your luck there! If you book a treatment or massage, you get complimentary spa access and don’t have to pay the extra charge.

Did we get breakfast included?

We paid for a room only rate but you can add breakfast for around €20 per person per night. Or you could just do what I did which was walk 8 minutes to Coffee Stand Gutenbuerg to pick up affordable and delicious pastries and hot coffee to enjoy back in bed!

How cheap is it to stay in 2025?

Whilst I had managed to bag an amazing deal, I was worried I’d only found a great price because I’d booked back in early 2022 when global travel was still on the slow side.

However, as I typed in the hotel’s details for 2025, I was very happy to still see excellent prices coming up and was particularly shocked to find affordable rates for Valentine’s Weekend.

Kozmo Budapest 2025 dates

What are the cheapest dates for a weekend close to Valentine's Day?

Most hotels – especially those that are deemed a romantic getaway – boost their prices for the weekends each side of 14 February and yet at Kozmo Hotel, you don’t see much of a price increase at all.

Right now, you can stay on Friday 14 or or Saturday 15 for a very reasonable £142 per night, and if you use my favourite hack of staying Saturday to Monday rather than Friday to Sunday, you can get that down to €147, which is £122 a night.

I found this rate on the Kozmo Hotel website, but whilst it was the cheapest website for me when I was looking, this could change and of course, as more rooms get booked, the rate could change too.

Here’s my step by step guide for finding the cheapest night at a specific hotel – or you can quickly check the price on the following with the following links – but make sure you’re signed in to get the best rates!

What are the cheapest dates midweek?

If you can get away midweek and a little bit earler, you can bag even more of a bargain.

Sunday 2 – Tue 4 February will cost you just £92 a night!

There’s also a few midweek stays in February for around £96 a night.

Is Budapest worth visiting for a short break?

Absolutely!!!

I spent our couple of days there exclaiming at how picturesque and beautiful it was. It’s the perfect city for a short break – you’ll have more than enough to do. And the most important part is, even thought travel prices have risen globally since we stayed… it’s still pretty affordable for UK travellers!
