Hostel H360 is a convenient base on Piotrkowska Street. Accommodation is simple but clean and comfortable, with rooms for 1, 2, 3 or 4 people.

The interiors are pared back, with white walls and linens and wooden floors and furniture. Shower rooms are shared, and the rooms have comfy beds, TVs, a desk and wardrobe.

There’s a shared kitchen and dining area, and you can choose to add breakfast to your stay for an additional charge.

Flamingo Hostel

Flamingo Hostel is in a great central location just off Piotrkowska Street – Łódź’s main street that’s the beating heart of the city – lined with all kinds of shops, restaurants and attractions.

Flamingo Hostel has a cosy-yet-social atmosphere. The decor may be simple, but it’s thoughtfully chosen, from feature walls with photographic images of the city to practical furniture like a bedside table and wardrobes. Each room has a Netflix-enabled TV, ideal for when you want to recharge for an hour or two.

Now you can’t actually book an individual dorm bed here – there are 8- and 10-person dorms but you have to book the whole thing. If you’re travelling solo, then a twin or double is your best bet.

Good Time Residence

At Good Time Residence you get budget-friendly apartments with character right on Piotrkowska Street.

This is a former tenement building that’s been restored – there aren’t original features but you do get smart bright rooms. Choose from a studio, rooms sleeping 1-3 and apartments with a separate living area.

Each has its own ensuite shower room with toiletries and a hairdryer, and a kitchenette with a kettle and fridge – handy if you want to prepare some drinks and food in your room to save money.

Platon Residence

Platon Residence Apartments are spacious modern apartments across from Łódź University. Each apartment has a long list of facilities, making it a perfect home from home, especially for longer stays.

They have studios which just have a sofa bed, studios with a bed and a sofa, superior studios with more space and even one-bed apartments that have a full-size kitchen.

The ensuite rooms are smart with colourful accents. You get a kitchenette with a sink, coffee machine, fridge, microwave and stovetop – and there’s even a dishwasher. There’s also a TV and a desk.

Aparthotel Krzywa Kamienica

Krzywa Kamienica is a charming boutique-style aparthotel with beautiful interiors near the old town, just under 20 minutes’ walk from Manufaktura, the slick shopping mall housed in a former factory complex.

Interiors are simple, in shades of mostly white and grey, with exposed brick walls giving the rooms character. They have compact studios or more spacious suites, all with kitchen facilites and a seating area.

Piotrkowska 89 Residence is – as the name suggests – right on the city’s famous main street.

Traugutta ApartHotel 12 is a restored tenement building in the centre of Łódź, just a few blocks from Piotrkowska Street. If kerb appeal is important to you when you’re staying in new places, this will be the spot for you.

The 4-star apartments have stunning original features, like beautiful cornicing and ceilings, although there are some more simple standard rooms too. The interiors are modern but restrained with lots of wall panelling, light colours and warm wooden floors. The overall effect is very chic.

Different rooms and apartments have different amenities – some rooms have a kitchenette for example, and some apartments have a bathtub in the ensuite.
