Why have Ryanair increased their small cabin bag dimensions?
Now is this because Ryanair are feeling generous, and think we could do with a bit of extra space?
It’s actually to do with some recent EU proposals about free cabin bags on planes. These include a suggested minimum size for small cabin bags.
Ryanair’s new dimensions are actually slightly bigger than this recommendation – yes really! Even though an extra 5cm might not sound like much (the old size was 40x25x20cm), it does increase the volume from around 20L to around 24L!
