Viray Vacay: Michelin star meal in Paris
A little change from accommodation in this edition, we’re looking at delicious world-class restaurants!
Fancy restaurant Le Cinq in Paris has not 1, not 2, but 3 Michelin stars. Their spritz-in-a-bubble appetiser has gone viral on Instagram, with over 1.8M views …
Le Cinq

Three Michelin-starred Le Cinq is the restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris.
The official Michelin guide rates the ‘timeless cuisine’ and ‘oustanding produce’ of head chef Christian Le Squer, so we reckon you’re in for a treat if you have the cash to splash on a meal here.
Le Cinq is in good company – the hotel actually has TWO other Michelin-starred restaurants – L’Orangerie and Le George.
How viral? This reel has almost 1.8M views on Instagram!
How much? The restuarant’s menu has main courses starting at €160, and their fancy tasting menu is a punchy €260. These are serious prices for gourmet food lovers!
Although, a meal here is much MUCH cheaper than a night at the hotel.
Fancy a cheaper alternative?
Aldehyde

There are actually a good number of Michelin-starred restaurants in Paris that have more affordable prices.
Aldehyde is a restuarant run by Youssef Marzouk, a Tunisian-born chef who serves up North African and French fusion flavours. It has one Michelin star, and you can dine on a two-course lunch here for an absolute steal. You can also have their evening seven-course tasting menu for around a hundred quid.
How much? Two-course lunch menu from €35 / £30.
What about even cheaper?
Capsule, Paris

The Michelin guide has something called the Bib Gourmand. It’s an award they give to good quality and good value restaurants. It’s not a Michelin star but it is a nod from the experts.
So, keeping an eye out for places with a Bib Gourmand is a sure-fire way to know you’re dining somewhere delicious – and best of all it’s not gonna wipe out your bank account!
Capsule is a bistro in Montparnasse that does knockout rotisserie chicken and has mains priced at €25 / £21.50 and up.
Other spots in Paris with a Bib Gourmand include:
Baca’v – classic bistro cooking in the 5th
Lai’Tcha – simple and fragrant Chinese cuisine near Les Halles
Les Canailles Pigalle – seasonal recipes with a sister restaurant next door
Mandoobar – authentic and delicious Korean flavours in the 8th
