Our Top Tips on How To Find a Cheap Oasis Reunion Tour Hotels

Chelsea at Laptop Serious

Get in there first

Okay, whilst we know the rush for tickets has been and gone, it’s a good thing to bear in mind the next time a major event is about to get announced.

Chelsea says:
It’s all about speed so having a few hotel choices already loaded up so you can quickly put in the dates when they’re announced will help you beat others!

Book with free cancellation

If you are booking a hotel before you’re able to secure a ticket, make sure you book with free cancellation. This may mean paying a little bit more, but it will be so worth it to have the flexibillity!

Check Travelodge and Premier Inn

Now it may be because people snapped up the rooms before the prices could sky rocket, but there were affordable prices available at both Travelodge and Premier Inn the morning the tour was announced.

These hotels don’t always show up in comparison searches, and so they’re a great one to manually check.

At time of writing, there are still some Travelodge and Premier Inns available on the outskirts of all cities bar Dublin. I’d definitely check back on Saturday after tickets have been released.

Choose a city with cheaper hotels

The Oasis reunion tour has been announced in 5 cities and it may surprise you to hear that the cheapest city for hotels for those dates is… London!

This is because there’s so much more choice in London unlike Cardiff, Edinburgh and Dublin where the demand outstrips the hotel availability.

Manchester still had options after a couple hours of the announcement, but by the afternoon was getting pretty booked up too.

Stay alongside transport links

This is another reason why London could work out cheaper. It’s because there are so many affordable public transport options to get you to and from the gig and your accommodation.

On the morning the announcement went out, I found plenty of well-rated hotels for around £100 a night in London which had great transport links.

However, this tip isn’t just for England’s capital. Check transport maps for whatever city you’re eyeing up and trace along them to find more obscure areas to stay.

Don’t forget to check what time transport links run until though, and note that they’re likely to be busy during these gigs.

How to Find the Cheapest Night at a Hotel
Do you know what hotel you want to stay in but want to find how stay on the cheapest night? Here's my step by step guide on how to save money.

Stay in a nearby town or city

Don’t forget to check what the prices are like in a nearby town or city.

For example, whilst Edinburgh hotels are quivering around £400 a night, you can still bag a stay in Glasgow for around £120 a night.

To drive, it will take you just over an hour but the great news is that you can book a Scottish citylink bus for under £10. The bus takes you from Roseburn Gardens – just a 10 minute walk from Murrayfield Stadium – to Glasgow’s city centre in 1 hour 10 mins.

Book direct with an alternative accommodation type

The problem with a lot of hotels is that they work on the basis of ‘dynamic pricing’. Basically, when demand goes up, so does prices!

However, there are still some accommodation options that aren’t listed on the big sites and that may have more set prices.

This could be a B&B, a pub with a room or even a hostel!

Chelsea says: Many of these alternative accommodation types are on the big hotel search sites, but if you can find one that isn’t that could be the key to finding a bargain! I like to search for ‘bed & breakfast’ on Google Maps in the place and see where comes up. Sometimes, you’ll find a hidden gem!

Book a hostel

Don’t forget to check hostels, especially if you need accommodation for more than 2 people.

Whilst it’s certainly not cheap, I did find the private rental of a 6 bed dormitory in Dublin for one of the tour dates for £454, which would work out as £75.60 each if you filled it.

Book an Airbnb or holiday let

Holiday lets are also worth checking out. Some owners will raise prices for popular dates – there’s clever algorithms that can help them with this – but not everyone does.

The main tip is to not just check Airbnb, as there are loads of alternative websites that offer this type of accommodation as well.

Check availability again when tickets go on sale

In the immediate aftermath of the tour dates getting announced, hotel rooms got booked up fast. However, not all of those people will have got tickets and its likely that some will have booked multiple nights to increase their chances of being covered once the ticket sales open.

Therefore, I would definitely be checking hotel availability from the moment that tickets go on sale on Saturday 31st August as I expect to see lots of rooms being put back onto the market.

The only issue – they may be a bit more pricey now the hotels know their worth!

Monitor prices

Whilst it’s unlikely prices will go down, it doesn’t hurt to track hotel prices just in case they do go down over the next year.

Pruvo will do this for you for free, and quite simply it will send you an email if the price goes down.

Even if you haven’t booked with free cancellation, check to see if your booking site offers a price match or price guarantee, like Hotels.com and Booking.com do. Terms and conditions apply!

Wait for more dates!

Remember, they called it a ‘world tour’ and so there are more dates than just the UK ones. Therefore, you may actually find it easier to catch the band abroad instead – though they are very popular all over the world! However, at least the you may be able to turn your trip into a holiday as well!!
