Northern Rail are known for their flash sales where they slash their train prices to super low prices, and this time there’s 3 million £2 Advance Purchase up for grabs!
When is the Northern Flash Sale running until?
Tickets are available from 30th September until 2nd October 2025 for travel dates between 6th and 24th October 2025 – so you better not hang about!

How do I book in the Northern Flash Sale?
It’s easy, you just need to head to whatever platform you usually use to book your train ticket and look out for the discounted fares! This could be direct with Northern, trainline, Train Pal, Virgin Trains Ticketing or your chosen train operator.
As long as you’re booking a Northern train, the route is included and there’s still availability, it should show up on all websites!

Can you use your railcard as well?
No, sadly railcard discounts cannot be used on Flash Sale tickets.
Can children still get a discount?
Yes, children will still be priced at half of the adult price and so if you’ve found a £2 sale ticket fare, the child fare will only be £1 – as long as there is availability.
Why can't I find any £2 tickets?
The £2 sale tickets are limited and so once they’re gone, they’re gone. Also, remember that most train ticket platforms show all possible trains and that this sale is only on Northern trains – so you may need to keep searching to find the sale fares.
