My Favourite DFDS Routes

I’ve been travelling on DFDS ferries since I was a small child – they were one of the only reasons my parents could afford to take 4 kids abroad!

In more recent years, I’ve used them several times to get to France and back but my last trip was definitely a stand out. I tested out the overnight ferry from Newcastle to Amsterdam!

And when I was searching the sale fares just now, I spotted this route for just £59.50 each for a return trip for 2 people on foot staying in an inside cabin. That’s less than £60 each for 2 nights on board the ferry, and a few hours to explore Amsterdam in the day in between. Though, you will have to pay extra for the coach transfer into the city!

This fare was in February where the seas may be a little rougher (you can never predict the weather!) and if you haven’t quite got your sea legs, I’d recommend looking at crossings in Spring instead.
